I have lived in downtown Fairbanks since 1999 and spent much of that time working with others to defend and create good paying jobs in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. I did that by working with others to fight the 2005 BRAC, to help bring the F35s to Eielson, and to bring affordable energy to our community. I have served five years as a Borough Assembly member where I have earned a reputation for listening, asking questions, and working with my fellow Assembly members and the administration to find common sense solutions to our community's difficult problems.
I am running for state office because, like you, I am tired of watching partisan bickering create gridlock that keeps us from finding and executing common sense solutions. "I promise to work with my colleagues to find common-sense solutions to our shared problems; solutions that provide the basis for good jobs in a strong economy."

Economic Development Advocate
I have worked in Economic Development for the Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor's office and the University of Alaska. During that time I developed and implemented regional economic development strategies, like strengthening rural regional ties, creating an attractive downtown, and matching workforce development training with job opportunities.
Two Term assembly member
Fairbanks voters first elected me to the Assembly in 2012 and re-elected me in 2015. My fellow Assembly members have elected me Presiding Officer and before that Deputy Presiding Officer. I consistently support reasonable budgets, adequately funding schools, clean air and marijuana laws that reflect the wishes of Fairbanks area voters.
small business owner
I have been a small business owner since the early 1980s. My experience in the tourist industry and managing rentals has taught me about the challenges small businesses face every day. Challenges like making payroll, making sure bills are paid and reports are filed.
Small business development
As Alaska SCORE District Director and Economic Development Specialist, I have partnered with many local organizations to present small business workshops and provide mentoring to small businesses and startups. This helps the small businesses succeed, diversifies and strengthens our economy.
I have lived downtown for almost 20 years. You've probably seen me walking my dogs or working in my garden on your way to Veteran's Park or the river. I understand the challenges and benefits of downtown living and, like you, want a vibrant, attractive community.
I serve on many boards and commissions. Some of those include the Alaska State Human Rights Commission, the Alaska Municipal League Board, National Association of Counties Board and Downtown Rotary. I have had the privilege of serving on many other nonprofit and public boards and councils over the years, two I am most proud of serving on are Fairbanks Neighborhood Housing and UAF School of Management Advisory Council.
